The Old Mill
Access Statement
We have warmly welcomed multi-generational groups at the windmill since 2008, and have taken steps, where at all possible, to make it more accessible for less mobile/elderly guests. Naturally due to its makeup there are limitations, but hopefully some equipment that we have made available on site will ensure that it continues to be as accessible as possible for as many as possible.
If you have any suggestions, we are always very happy to hear them and implement them if possible.
The Old Mill comprises two buildings, the main house and the tower that are linked together inside on both the ground and first floors.
The property has level access at the rear, via the large side gates, which guests can drive through to the parking and patio area.
The main house house has 6 bedrooms on the first floor with 3 en suites, plus a family bathroom.
There is one ground floor double bedroom with a large walk in shower as well as the cloakroom (toilet and WC) on the same level. Available there is a removable, adjustable shower stool, grab rails (both fixed and removable) and a removable toilet frame.
There is also an anti-slip portable half-step available which guests can move around the property to help less mobile guests navigate steps within the property.
To access the first floor bedrooms guests must climb one set of standard stairs.
One double bedroom on the first floor is directly next to the main bathroom.
The sitting room area in the main house is central and sunken, so guests must navigate between one and two steps to access the sitting room from all other downstairs rooms.
The tower portion of the windmill has several sets of stairs to access each floor for exploring and the views, but due to its listing status, does not/cannot have a lift installed.
There are plug in night lights available at the property.
